Chris Christie, former Governor of NJ, discusses legal sports betting


On November 9, 2011, New Jersey voters approved a new measure to allow sports betting in the state’s casinos, setting in motion an arduous legal battle ultimately decided by the Supreme Court. The court’s 6-3 ruling in favor of legalization was met with widespread enthusiasm, but from no one more than Chris Christie, who’d long sought to overturn the twenty-six year prohibition on sports betting.
